What's in a name? Kai-Ara (kī-air-ah) In Tibetan, "kyi" means dog and "apso" is short for either "ara" meaning moustache or "sog-sog" meaning hairy. Basically, our kennel name means “hairy mustache dog”, in the native language of the original keepers of Lhasa Apso.
